Policy Architecture & Code of Ethics Design
This service offers a complete modernization of your organization’s Code of Ethics/Conduct or other organizational policy architecture to bring it up to contemporary standards in legislation, social expectations, novel technology, and scope of practice. Codes of Ethics are recognized as being central to the definition of a profession, they are crucial for mitigating ethics and compliance risks, and are useful in both guiding professional conduct and disciplining aberrant behaviour that deviates from the ethical standards endorsed in the Code of Ethics.
Option A: The Complete Modernization
$25,000
This is our flagship product and is constituted by the research for and writing of a totally new Code of Ethics/Conduct for your organization. By starting from the beginning and performing a completely novel drafting of the Code, your organization is positioned to define its organizational culture in terms of both dedicated ethical obligations and ethical aspirations for your members/employees. The Flagship Option’s limited-time, launch-pricing is $25,000.
Deliverables:
Phase 1: Discovery & Scoping Alignment
We initiate the modernization architecture by hosting structured alignment sessions with core organizational leadership and key stakeholders. Special attention is paid to ensuring absolute operational consensus concerning project timelines, specific deliverables, technical specifications, and contractual parameters before any writing begins.
Prerequisite: Signed Statement of Work (SOW).
Phase 2: Evidence-Informed Gap Analysis
Once the initial scoping phase concludes, we execute a comprehensive Environmental Scan (Deliverable One) of relevant regional and national statutory legislation, regulatory policies, grey literature (such as prior board directives and industry briefings), and peer-reviewed literature. This synthesis is foundational to our evidence-informed methodology and directly establishes the structural rigor and defensibility of the final Code.
Deliverable One: Comprehensive Environmental Scan.
Phase 3: Ethical Architecture Development
Upon completing the gap analysis, we begin drafting the initial core framework of the Code of Ethics (Deliverable Two). While Hearth Ethics Studio relies on the Principlist ethical framework as the basis of our Codes, we reject a rote, checklist application. Instead, Hearth Ethics Studio utilizes a signature, research-backed framework that bridges the gap between ethical theory and practical governance. By anchoring the Principlist framework in a relational, systems-based approach that is embedded within a holistic understanding of real human beings, we interpret ethical duties through the lens of your organization’s unique professional identity. The result is a highly coherent, institutionally integrated Code of Ethics that not only reduces regulatory ambiguity, aligns stakeholder concerns, and actively mitigates operational risk, but also contributes to the flourishing of all organizational members. This framework is directly informed by our team’s extensive record of peer-reviewed publication in healthcare and bioethics.
Deliverable Two: Initial Strategic Code Framework — Draft 1
Phase 4: Structured Iteration & Stakeholder Consensus
To ensure seamless organizational buy-in and prevent scope drift, we manage a disciplined, multi-stage iteration protocol (Deliverable Three). Draft 1 is submitted to designated stakeholders for review. This initial feedback is systematically analyzed and integrated into Draft 2. Draft 2 is then re-submitted to stakeholders to secure revised institutional opinions, culminating in the preparation of Draft 3. This progressive lifecycle ensures that the document undergoes rigorous collaborative refinement within the established scope of work.
Deliverable Three: Consensus-Aligned Policy Suite — Drafts 2 & 3
Phase 5: Regulatory Governance & Final Deployment
Following stakeholder alignment, the mature draft is submitted for formal Board evaluation and final regulatory verification. Once any definitive administrative updates from the Board are secured, the final text is locked in, producing the Final Draft of the Code of Ethics (Deliverable Four). This asset constitutes its own unique, institutionally integrated deliverable engineered to reduce regulatory ambiguity, align stakeholder interests, and actively mitigate long-term operational risk.
Deliverable Four: Final Code of Ethics & Board Ratification
Option B: Supplementary Appendices/Commentary
$5,000
In certain cases, an organization’s extant Code of Ethics/Conduct is already strong and relatively up to date, but it needs to address a change in the profession. This could be about AI use, scope of practice change, or many other things. In such a case, redrafting the entire Code is impractical and unnecessary. Instead, an appendix or commentary on the novel change in the profession can modernize the Code and reduce ethics and compliance risks.
